| WORKPLACE PREPAREDNESS TRAINING | |
![]() |
Whether you are a business owner, a manager or an employee, disaster preparedness is critical to your bottom-line and to the welfare of your fellow employees. How prepared is your business? * Did you know that as many as 40% of small businesses do not reopen following a major disaster such as a flood or earthquake? * Most natural disasters strike quickly, with little or no warning. * A flood might not put your business under water, but it could prevent customers and supplies from reaching you. * Power outages, brown-outs or surges can affect your daily business operations. Disasters happen often, and in our changing world, it is important to take the necessary steps to be ready for anything that comes your way. The Red Cross Workplace Disaster Preparedness Program is a 60- to 90- minute module, with a focus on potential natural or man-made disasters. It is brought directly to your workplace complete with disaster products and materials. * The hands-on training will help prepare your associates for inevitable emergencies and unthinkable events. * The program addresses both personal and workplace emergency preparedness as well as business continuity planning. * Each participant receives an information packet and the company receives a Business Continuity Planning CD-Rom. * The presentation is for groups up to 30 people for a flat fee of $250. |

| 3. AUTHORIZED PROVIDERS | |
![]() |
Authorized Providers Welcome to the American Red Cross, and thank you for being part of our mission of emergency prevention and preparedness. We'd like to congratulate you on your commitment to building a healthier, safer community by becoming an American Red Cross authorized provider and helping us reach even more people with lifesaving training. As an American Red Cross authorized provider, you are leveraging more than 90 years of lifesaving expertise and a brand that is trusted and recognized as being the premier health and safety training organization. Red Cross training materials incorporate the most current standards of care that meet OSHA Guidelines for First Aid and the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Guidelines. And because Red Cross training is standardized and recognized by national, state and local authorities, proof and validity of training can easily be provided to regulatory agencies. Your local American Red Cross chapter is committed to providing you with the highest level of customer service. Technical and programmatic support is just a phone call away, and marketing materials are available at little or no cost so that you can promote your training programs. Your local chapter also provides administrative support, including issuing course certificates and maintaining instructor and student records, so that you can focus on what's most important-providing lifesaving training. If you have any questions, please be sure to contact your local Red Cross chapter. New First Aid/CPR/AED Program Course Combinations Provide More Training Options. The First Aid/CPR/AED Program reflects the Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) 2005 Guidelines and provides you with a broader range of training options than ever before, including adult CPR, automated external defibrillation (AED), injury control modules, and infant and child CPR. The modular design of the program allows customers to build the first aid and safety programs that are right for them. The First Aid/CPR/AED Program Instructor's Manual provides course outlines and lesson plans for 14 courses and course combinations. We heard from instructors that course outlines for every possible course combination in the First Aid/CPR/AED Program would be valuable. We responded with the development of 15 additional course outlines designed to match the multiple course combinations that customers may request. The new course outlines (see MS Word file available below) provide you with clear directions to conduct each combination ensuring that all skills and information are covered uniformly without needless repetition. This expansion results in a total of 29 course combinations that can be taught from one instructor's manual to help you offer your course takers the training they need. Thank you for the critical work you are doing in your community everyday. Each person to whom you teach lifesaving skills might have the opportunity to put those skills to use in a life-threatening emergency. Together, we can save a life. 1. What is an Authorized Provider?
